During the First Wizarding War, Crabbe Sr was appointed as a dark wizard by the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort. Also, Crabbe, the first death eater returned to Lord Voldemort first when he demanded the Death Eaters back to Little Hangleton Cemetery. Despite his evasion of conviction and prison time. Lord Voldemort scolded Crabbe, but he was forgiven by him and rejoined the ranks after his downfall.

The following year when the dementors protect the wizard prison along with Lord Voldemort, all the death eaters including Crabbe run away from Azkaban. It indicates that he also participated in the Battle of Hogwarts along with the entire Death Eater army.
